What did I do today?

Moon!
Today my brother, mother and I stood in the kitchen and practiced/compared our evil laughs/cackles for about five minutes.

Meme Monday without the Meme... So, Monday.

Vampire!
Today I was the only one in my household who remembered to turn on their alarm clock.

Very little was done in some classes due to people discussing the formal. In other classes very little was done because... We didn't want to. So there. This concludes the school portion of the post.

On the weekend I will make cupcakes and buy my mother a book to celebrate late Mother's Day. Because I was going to get something on Saturday, then didn't.

Tonight I am working on comic. I have not had a good solid day of working on comic for awhile. Plenty of solid days were spent on assignments though.

Over the weekend the comic (which needs a link after being mentioned so many times. Linkalink.) may have gotten two readers! I'm not sure. Oh well. A New South Welshian was involved. And [info]eldaisy .

Obligatory Formal Post

 • May. 10th, 2009 at 12:06 AM
Moon!
Because it's obligatory you know.

Let's see. Hair and makeup was done. You spend a stunning amount of time supporting a percentage of your weight by your neck when having hair and makeup done. Ow for shoulders the next day. Am I the only one who gets that? There is now a hand's length of my hair missing. Alas. Now I can only wrap it around my neck once. Main event with makeup was trying to get it off. I managed to turn my face black with mascara before getting it off...

Was subjected to many photos before even leaving. Got there early after almost hitting two rabbits and a cat (uhhh...) and stood around chatting to various other early people and having pictures taken by early teachers before going to get Professional Photos. It took downwards of two minutes. Then we stood around and waited for more people.

After much waiting and munching of calamari rings and chicken skewers people were present! And then we had to get more photos with them. And then fetch early people to introduce to late people. So then introductions were made! And then I was dragged off for more photos. And then I was intercepted while taking photos to take photos with someone else. Then there was not much happening for awhile so the parents decided to take photos. Then my mother left. So we wandered over to find people we knew and they wanted photos too. After all of these photos we went to the marque which was actually quite warm and introduced ourselves to the leadership team. We were first so we had to wait a long time for everyone else.

We got the table near the speakers. BOOM.

Eventually there was dinner. Did not eat much of this. It was at this point I had a bout of tiredness. Made idle chatter with other people's partners. There was Med-student, James, Spike, Gloves and Jim! Talked mainly to Med-student and Jim. There was a long time between courses so I just got more sleepy. Eventually the last course came and it was wow a mass of chocolate! With a mint leaf. But wow chocolate! I couldn't eat it all. I was sad. (I really didn't eat that much...)

Then there was music and dancing and stuff. Still being sleepy I attempted wandering outside after being dragged upright by Jim. But it was cold. So I didn't stay there long. I attempted sleeping using my shawl rug (or 'shrug' as it has been dubbed) back at the table near the speakers. It did not work for obvious reasons. Instead I stared at dancing people for awhile, located Jess (a different Jess!) who is Energetic, and decided to hover over near her group of people in case some energy rubbed off.

It did! Did various dances that had dances (you know, like TIme Warp and things like that? They have Official dances.) and stood awkwardly with the Kidnapped by Jess's Group Group which included Lee, Ashleigh and possibly Selena. I wasn't sure if she was there of her own free will or not. Then Grace and Nicola kidnapped me to dance and I became an official member of the Kidnapped by Jess's Group Group.

Eventually the merriment ended and I took my shrug and headed out into the cold and went home. Since I had been trying to talk to people over speakers (which were loud) and rarely exercise my vocals, I lost my voice for several hours somewhere between Friday and Saturday.

I scrubbed off my makeup with Effort and Soap and A Lot Of Water and collapsed on the couch and watched Forest Gump with mum for however long I was doing that. Then I fell asleep for 12 hours or so, woke up and was tired within the hour.

Other stuff that happened:
 • Apparently I had the most sensible shoes. I'll tell you what, you can sprint in them (I know this because I did) but you can't do the nutbush. (I did this too.)
 • Many people liked my dress.
 • Many people liked my hair. A few people stroked it.
 • One person complimented my eyeshadow. That was interesting.
 • Kept on confusing one of my teachers with a highschool age person and doing a double take. She's young.

That's about it. I've taken to my shrug now. I think I shall have to sleep with it. It's nice and warm unlike those blankets. I may have to post about my shrug more often.

Incidentally, that is the name of a webcomic I've never read.

My English assignment is half finished. Bets that since I like this assignment it'll be the worst mark I get for the year?

It is also freezing.

Every time I leave the kitchen that has been taken over for chemistry I smell like alcohol. It's not nice.

Also, the problem with poetry to prose assignments is that you're told to take a poem at face value and that there are no hidden meanings but if you take it literally it's not right. Alas.

What really annoys me about TV is...

When I can see where they've used a different cut and some numbskull didn't set up the scene properly or edit it properly and you can see a prop there that was just taken out of the room by someone and it's glaringly standing out because it was the only thing on the table.

All I have the energy to do is read manga, watch numbers count down in Tribal Wars and refresh the page every five seconds in Conquer Club. Woe is me. I have stuff to do.

In other news, I got Wii Fit a few days back. I exercised after dinner for a few days but somehow I end up starving within an hour or so after stopping after half an hour of exercise. I stopped doing that after I woke up on Saturday and couldn't actually get up from hunger. So I tried after breakfast today and the same thing happened. Starving in a short time. Does exercise do this to everyone or am I just weird? Why can't I do a push up? Am I missing all my muscles in my torso? How am I dropping so much weight I don't have? Does my body consist of fat where those torso muscles should be? I just don't know. All I know is that my English accent trainer in the TV doesn't like it when I fall flat on my face.

Weird stuff people.

Doing comic wiki and ended up with:

"A test of ability and back-and-forth ensues, Brent faints in Jacob's arms and Alis is hired."

True but odd sounding. I'll leave it in. It's funny.

Studious!
It's been awhile. In the time I was gone I watched the second season of Hell Girl, had a depressive few weeks of doom and gloom because all I was doing was assignments and exam prep. Have not drawn comic as fast as I should in awhile. Now I am back to square one with five assignments for next term. Oh joy. Anyone know where I can get a few kilos of mandarins in April? I also get to go consult a dermatologist on the holidays. We are currently getting all of our marks back from the assessment period of DOOM and it looks like my chem mark has dropped a bit but pretty much everything else is about the same. It was the complex chemistry that did me in, curse you pi orbitals! But B+/A- woo. My x key is also on the fritz.

Most exciting event to happen lately is getting semi regularly quoted in the LJDQ (woot!) and finding my dog attacking the neighbour's cat. The cat died. Not surprising, my dog is bigger than I am and the cat was about average. It also took a few minutes to haul her off the cat. I then had a reaction to the cat's fur and had to shower at about midnight. I also had a cold a week before that. Not so interesting though.

Recently I have become addicted to Tribal Wars. The free online game that does not have a German Tax. (Thank you April Fool's Day.)

Yesterday an April Fool's joke was made over the radio about an oil spill. There was no oil spill. Hehe.

I think that Theru should listen to Aquarian Age - Please Mr. Train when she comes back from cowering. Because she likes trains.

Next chem assignment is to make WINE. The teacher is the only one old enough to drink it though. We will have to get her to see if it's actually any good.

Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.

1. Negima
Shounen manga I am reading, everyone is getting older and lots of STUFF is happening all over the place at the moment. I have not yet read the new chapter. It has spinoffs too!

2. curiosity
I am quite curious! I like to know all about things but I don't like prodding said things particularly if they were once part of something alive. Ew. I also don't like to go places to find out all about them. I would rather read about it and rattle off my new knowledge to the next unfortunate passer by.

3. busy
I'll admit to being busy this time! I still think I'm lazy though. Currently I try to draw two pages of webcomic a week, one page of crack!manga a month, keep up in school, finish assignments on time (different thing entirely to keeping up), do a meme on Monday, handle comic stuff that isn't the drawing part on Tuesday like setting up vote incentives and the like and I missed this week's Thursday stuff because I was dead tired from doing stuff Monday to Wednesday. Oops.

4. That girl in your avatar
I don't quite remember where I found her. I think I was on a quizilla binge when I noticed, "Hey! This is a pretty picture. Do want. *Rightclicksaveas*" So now she is used as my avatar. Cuuute.

5. Fanfiction
Something I did for a few years. The problem was that I would make up a nice little character and a story and then they would take over and I would feel bad and grind to a halt in the story. So I stuck to oneshots for a bit. Then I discovered, hey, I could make my own story for the characters and I wouldn't have that kind of taking over problem any more. I write fanfiction every so often for the Train Station challenges if I'm interested now. I sound like a "Where are they now?" guest...

Moon!
I have given in to curiousity and asked [info]mujubius what all of these answers were about. So here are my answers. You have to ask if you want to know to what!

1. [info]peterchayward has one of the largest social circles I know of. How close all of the people are I don't know.
2. [info]fargis_ferraris I have known since I was a lass of about ten.
3. No one really. I'd have to deal with their problems.
4. [info]purple_ajah or [info]mini_twilight would probably support the cause!
5. My brother. He has no LJ.
6. [info]azurestrike there is no doubt.
7. [info]yanikei is. It's really quite strange because we didn't think so...
8. [info]tsutomu_teruko I think. I'd probably end up with a love of theatre too.
9. [info]yanikei Although I've actually done that. If you count the sun being up again the end of night.
10. [info]mini_twilight Babysitting count?
11. I don't know anyone like that... The girls at school who have a different boyfriend every week?
12. [info]vampire_lupine She'll deny it.
13. Ambrant Arandel was introduced as such to me.
14. [info]fargis_ferraris and [info]vampire_lupine both have girly sisters.
15. I've never thought about it. But let's go with... [info]seraphiro because of the nickname [info]yanikei gave him.
16. I can't even say my mother here. We're an odd lot.
17. Aha! Now my mother fits in here.
18. [info]tsutomu_teruko I think so anyway. The lord our mod~
19. [info]poxy_report seems like it.
20. [info]peterchayward does!
21. [info]yanikei is the closest I know of.
22. [info]yanikei or at least her nails think so.
23. Well my mother is my boss...
24. I certainly hope I don't have an answer.
25. I had to phone a friend on this one. We got Dan the computer man as the closest.
26. I've never tried? Probably no one.
27. I'm running out of answers. Maybe... My godmother.
28. [info]xserac perhaps. I'm sure that would work.
29. There is no one.
30. I do believe half of them won't read this. Slackers(or lacking accounts, whichever).

I feel like playing an MMORPG. Although I probably just want to create a character more than anything. Perhaps I'd be better off playing Soul Calibur.

I wonder where the brother hid it?

Also, hooray! No more exams!

And this is how it goes!

1. Comment on this post.
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Think of 5 fictional characters whose name starts with that letter and post their names and your comments on these characters in your LJ.

By the decree of [info]doctor_ansem I am to BEHOLD, THE POWER OF M!

So here goes!

For Smera! Mario from the many many games with the Mario Bros. A little Italian fellow in red with a moustache. Always fun to play the Mario games although the exclamations when bouncing off the goombas can become a little tedious...

Mana Tatsumiya from Negima! She's a mercenary for hire and is good shot with a rifle. Instantly awesome.

Medicine Melancholy from Touhou. I admittedly don't know much about this one but as a living doll she seems quite interesting. And she has poison. Always fun.

Mikuru from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Whyyyy? Why must your miracle song get stuck in my head? Her voice is a tad annoying. She is amusing in her vertically challenged-ness.

Margarita Surprise from GrimGrimoire. She has a frog on her head and looks like an evil maid. She's not as annoying as the heroine though, which is a good thing. I like Advocat more though.

The "Urban Dictionary Results" Meme

 • Jul. 14th, 2008 at 4:50 PM
Moon!
As is generally the case, stolen from [info]the_zaniak

Go to www.urbandictionary.com and look up all of your answers and post them.

1. Your name?

Jessica: An extremely common female name.

2. Nickname?

Ed: A rare blood disease in which the subject interjects in conversations with random, irrelevant comments that do not further the argument, but end up doing nothing but pissing people off. Side effects include a love for soft, girly music, mob movies, and ignorance.

3. Relationship status?

Independant: The only logical future for American politics. Will occur when people realize you don't have to vote for "the lesser of two evils", because you can always choose someone who isn't evil at all.

4. You describe your best friend as?

Noun: The replacement for the term "word."
"You hittin up that party tonight?"
"Noun."

5. What should you be doing?

Homework: Great to procrastinate to. Usually half assed.
"I spent six hours doing my chem homework and didn't finish."
"It was that long!?"
"No, I was watching paint dry."

6. Favorite Food

Curry: Greatest food ever.

7. Home State/Province?

Queensland: Quite possibly the most laid back, relaxed state in Australia

8. One word to describe yourself?

Cold:
1. A temperature that feels the opposite of hot.
2. Symbolic for death (mainly in music)
3. Mean, cruel, uncaring, unempathetic
4. Numb
5. Sociopathic

9. One thing you can't go without every day?

Sleep:
You have been awake for 18 hours and are now viewing this useless definition of sleep. You are very tired and your brain is not functioning at its normal capacity. The bags under your eyes are starting to weigh you down. It's 1:30am and you have to get up at 6:30am for work. Another coffee wont help you now...

10. Your best 3 friends:

In alphabetical order!

Ari: Alcohol Related Incident. Something that happens that was caused by consuming too much alcohol.
Jim: A generic nickname used to give to a person of the male gender. Used commonly in hipster circles, mostly back in the '60s and '70s. See Marlon Wayans' character's usage of it in Requiem for a Dream for a good example.

Sarah: The correct spelling of the name sara.

And those were the best things under those names... Alas. (You only had three definitions Achan, they were mean.)

That's all, folks.

 • Double negatives are confusing, as are triple and quadruple negatives.
 • Gargling mouthwash can be an 'Augh! It burns!' experience but has a minty after taste.
 • Birthdays clutter your desk.
 • My younger brother's word is worth squat.
 • Sleeping in the day is still rather difficult.
 • Lightbulbs flicker annoyingly, stop when you look and then start again as soon as you've stopped looking at it suspiciously every minute or so.
